Exciting opportunities for young people from One Dance UK

One Dance UK will soon be opening its doors to young people, with two exciting opportunities to run across the coming year.  Young Creatives and Dance Ambassadors are popular programmes that support young people with their desired dance pathways.  Here’s more information, including how to apply and get involved in each programme.

Young Creatives 2024

Following on from a successful 2022/2023 programme, culminating in a premiere performance of fresh new and vibrant work by young emerging choreographers, we are excited to soon be recruiting a new Year 1 cohort of Young Creatives.

Young Creatives is aimed at young people aged 16-20 with an interest in choreography and creating work. However, if you are over 20 and feel you would benefit from participating in this programme, then we'd love to hear from you.  As part of the Young Creatives programme, in Year 1, you will have the opportunity to work with amazing industry professionals to learn and develop your creative skills, and work towards a collective group performance.  You would then have the option to continue into a second year of the programme, utilising and building on the choreographic skills developed within year 1, to create and share individual work as part of a live performance evening.

Free online choreographic workshop with guest professional artist

We are delighted to be hosting two free Young Creatives Choreographic workshops where you can enjoy and learn from a professional dance artist.  The workshops are open to young people interested in choreography aged 16 years and upwards interested in any style of dance.  No previous experience is necessary, just a passion for dance and being creative!

Dance Ambassadors 2024

Applications for our Dance Ambassadors programme will also be opening at the start of November 2023!  

The programme is suitable for young people aged 18- 25 from across the UK, this programme provides a range of opportunities linked to the work of One Dance UK and enables participants to gain valuable experience and connections within the dance sector. Dance Ambassadors also provide a crucial ‘youth voice’ in One Dance UK’s advocacy work.
