Jess has a dedicated background in dance, dance science, and dancers' health and wellbeing. She is passionate about applied research and has an MSc in Dance Science from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, where she specialised in researching the learning styles and access requirements of neurodivergent dancers. Now, Jess's work continues to bridge dancers' health and wellbeing and access and inclusion.
In her role as Healthcare Manager, Jess works to widen access to dance specialist healthcare via such areas of work as our Performance Optimisation Packages (POP), Healthcare Practitioners Directory, and the NIDMS NHS Dance Injury Clinics.
As Dance Access Manager, Jess delivers initiatives that prioritise and promote access and inclusion such as the Considering Difference - Making Dance Accessible project. She works to help develop accessible and access-focused sector-specific resources and engages with the dance ecology to advocate for equitable access to dance.
