Centre Stage October 2020: Ffion Cambpell Davies

This month for our Centre Stage feature, we are celebrating Black History Month! As part of our 'I Move' campaign this summer, we reached out to those working and practicing within the field of Dance of the African Diaspora and asked them to share with us why DAD is important to them, the challenges that they are facing at the moment and their hopes for the future. In this next installment, we talk to Ffion Campbell-Davies. Ffion is a multidisciplinary artist based in London. She is the founding member of the company 'House of Absolute' and her main dance styles are contemporary, hip hop and afro. Ffion explores humanitarian politics through psychoanalysis, body language and spirituality. Interested in the contexts of race, gender, culture and identity, she creates through the influences of ritual, expressing various aspects of the human experience. Ffion works with disciplines such as voice, text and poetry, as well as film, visual and digital art, music production, performative experimental art, contemporary, hip hop, fem and krump dance. Her work is influenced by holistic therapy and martial arts.
