We are seeking a new Chair of the Board of Trustees to join our existing Board from early 2025.
"As a Chair of the Board of Trustees, you will have an important role in shaping the future of the organisation, supporting not only my artistic vision but also the future of dance in the UK and internationally. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing leadership and direction to the Board of Trustees in fulfilling SPD's mission and vision and supporting the trustees in fulfilling their duties and responsibilities with care, diligence and skill for the effective governance of SPD. The Chair will work with and line-manage the Artistic Director to reach agreed objectives and support SPD to achieve its potential. They will also act as an ambassador and public face of the Charity, as required. Time commitment is estimated at 1 to 1.5 days per month. Seeta Patel Dance (SPD) is a pioneer, creating opportunities and spaces of belonging for future generations by disrupting systems and hierarchies through performance and dialogue. SPD makes performance art rooted in Bharatanatyam that challenges existing perceptions and perspectives. SPD became an Arts Council England National Portfolio Organisation in 2023.
