Chair of the Board of Trustees

We are seeking a new Chair of the Board of Trustees to join our existing Board from early 2025.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing leadership and direction to the Board of Trustees in fulfilling SPD's mission and vision and supporting the trustees in fulfilling their duties and responsibilities with care, diligence and skill for the effective governance of SPD. The Chair will work with and line-manage the Artistic Director to reach agreed objectives and support SPD to achieve its potential. They will also act as an ambassador and public face of the Charity, as required. Time commitment is estimated at 1 to 1.5 days per month. Seeta Patel Dance (SPD) is a pioneer, creating opportunities and spaces of belonging for future generations by disrupting systems and hierarchies through performance and dialogue. In 2024, Seeta Patel's staging of The Rite of Spring was nominated for an Olivier Award for the Best Dance Production, making her the first South Asian Woman to be nominated in the category and the first woman of colour in the 40+ year history of the awards. The company was also nominated for Best Independent Company and Best Classical Choreography (for the Rite of Spring) by the National Dance Awards (2023).
