Claudine Carter Pereira studied extensively with the Joffrey Ballet School before putting her dance career on hold to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Loyola College in Maryland and a Master of Science in Forensic Science from Virginia Commonwealth University. Despite this shift, she continued dancing throughout graduate school at Virginia Commonwealth University and Richmond Ballet.
