Okuni (Kabuki dancer) The Place, Cockpit Theatre, Other Theatre, Briton

-Story-

In sixteen century Japan, Okuni 's dance troop was the most celebrated group of its time. But their success did not last and Okuni's aging cost her many admirers. To overcome this she resorted to anti-wrinkle exercise and breast uplift massage...

A radical reinterpretation of Kabuki theatre, with added comedic slant and ironic quotation of martial arts appear in this Kabuki theatre played by amazing dancers, Chi- Lim Nim, Tomomi Kosano and an actor Ignacio Jarquin. Directed and choreographed by Akiko Ono.
