New work takes centre stage across Sadler's Wells venues

The latest programming announced today includes seven world premieres, vibrant ballet and cutting-edge contemporary dance from award-winning artists

This new season reflects that commitment, from emerging voices to internationally renowned makers, with seven world premieres across our theatres. At Sadler’s Wells East, we’re especially proud to be championing regional companies and mid-scale work, including Jess & Morgs’ DEEPFAKE. Alongside a bold ballet offering, a powerful new work from Dickson Mbi, and the return of YFX Festival celebrating the very best in youth dance, this season demonstrates the breadth of dance today - there's truly something for everyone.”

This latest season champions new work, including seven world premieres across three theatres. Following commissions for the Paris Opera Ballet and Scottish Ballet, award-winning directors and choreographers Jess & Morgs present their very first work as a company with the world premiere of DEEPFAKE at Sadler’s Wells East, using dance, film, text and green-screen to explore an interview between lying politicians and journalists. 

Acclaimed company and Sadler’s Wells Associate Artist BalletBoyz - now in their 25th year - returns with a brand-new piece featuring a 37-piece orchestra to music composed by Keaton Henson; this world premiere platforms the role of music and dance in mental health recovery.

English National Ballet presents two world premieres by Jae Man Joo and Micaela Taylor as part of a triple bill that will be accompanied live by the English National Ballet Philharmonic. The bill is completed with George Balanchine’s Symphony in Three Movements. Sadler’s Wells International Associate Company Acosta Danza brings a new double bill blending the Baroque period with Cuban dance including a world premiere by Andonis Foniadakis.

The Lilian Baylis Studio will host two world premieres; firstly Katye Coe and Charlie Morrissey return with Countermeasure which grapples with choices and their consequences, whilst Georgia Tegou presents a fluid duet based on the complexities of human connection inspired by Greek myths and informed by her father’s profession as a neurosurgeon.
Award-winning choreographer Emanuel Gat returns to Sadler’s Wells Theatre with FIVE DAYS IN THE SUN set to Gustav Mahler’s Symphony No. 5, which explores transformation, resilience and catharsis. The inaugural Rose International Dance Prize winner - Christos Papadopoulos – will present My Fierce Ignorant Step, his first piece at Sadler’s Wells since his win in 2025, featuring ten dancers moving in unison, and Delhi based dancer and choreographer Aditi Mangaldas returns with a fresh double bill featuring both classical and contemporary kathak dance. 

Cassa Pancho's Ballet Black celebrates its 25th anniversary season with a double bill featuring the Olivier Award-winning Ingoma by Mthuthuzeli November and a UK premiere from Alvin Ailey alumnus Hope Boykin. A beloved classic returns, with Birmingham Royal Ballet’s revival of Peter Wright and Galina Samsova’s seminal Swan Lake, accompanied by the Royal Ballet Sinfonia.

The next generation of dance artists will be celebrated in July with the second edition of YFX Festival, taking over Sadler’s Wells East for a week of youth performances from around the country. Including the National Platform of Making Moves, National Youth Dance Company perform Alleyne Dance’s Memory Keepers, a youth dance symposium and a festival takeover from the Olivier Award-winning Boy Blue. Further programming at Sadler’s Wells East showcases exciting new work from across the country. Ben Duke’s award-winning Lost Dog based in East Sussex, reimagines one of Shakespeare’s most iconic characters with a sharply meta twist in The Last Hamlet in which Duke performs the title role.

East London-based Alleyne Dance presents Far From Home, exploring immigration, using the award-winning company’s dynamic movement and featuring an intergenerational community cast. Olivier Award-winner Dickson Mbi returns with a new piece inspired by his Cameroonian heritage and his desire to tell his son a bedtime story; TELLUS features an original live score by Mbi himself, and dramaturgy from Complicité’s Simon McBurney.

Now under the new leadership of Artistic Director Bakani Pick-Up, National Dance Company Wales presents a new double bill featuring work by Theo Clinkard and Sadler’s Wells Associate Artist Alesandra Seutin. West Midlands based dance-circus company Motionhouse performs new production Hidden, at the cutting edge of live performance and digital integration. 

Following their sold out 2025 run Birmingham and Barcelona based HUMANHOOD returns to Sadler’s Wells East to immerse the audience in the pulse of movement and sound. Presented with Dance Umbrella, 2026 Venice Biennale Silver Lion recipient Mamela Nyamza explores the dual meaning of the ‘herd’, pulling from her South African heritage with a live percussive score. 

Next summer, smash-hit musical Singin’ in the Rain returns to Sadler's Wells Theatre featuring the iconic MGM score including ‘Good Morning’, ‘Make ‘em Laugh’ and the famed titular track ‘Singin’ in the Rain’. Casting to be announced. 

Tickets go on sale to Sadler’s Wells Patrons on Monday 18 May, to Rehearsal Members on Wednesday 20 May, Members on Friday 22 May and to the general public on Tuesday 26 May 2026.
