New Adventures releases new short film, Quiet Revolutions

New Adventures has released Quiet Revolutions, a new vérité-style short film created to mark 10 years of its Overture programme and to celebrate the vital work of community dance artists across the UK. Now available to watch on Sadler’s Wells Digital Stage, Quiet Revolutions shines a light on the artists who bring people together through movement in schools, halls and community spaces across the country.

The film follows Phoebe, a community dance artist navigating financial uncertainty, personal doubt and the everyday realities of sustaining creative practice, while continuing to nurture confidence, creativity and connection in others. Created by New Adventures, the film captures the resilience and often unseen labour of community dance practitioners. It highlights how dance artists create spaces where people can move and connect, work that is especially important at a time when the arts can too easily be pushed to the margins.

Quiet Revolutions also celebrates a decade of Overture, New Adventures’ professional development programme for community dance artists. Since its launch, Overture has supported 157 dance artists working in schools and communities nationwide, offering mentoring, training and development opportunities to help artists continue creating, leading and inspiring.

Directed by Tom Hobden and Kaasam Aziz, with a concept by Kaasam Aziz and Tom Hobden, Quiet Revolutions premiered as part of Sadler’s Wells Dance Digital and is now available to stream online.
