Rubicon Dance, a community dance organisation and registered charity based in Adamsdown, Cardiff is signed up to the "Let's Dance" UK wide campaign, spearheaded by Angela Rippon CBE which aims to get the nation moving and dancing on Sunday March 2nd 2025.

Angela has the support of Professor Chris Whitty, the World Health Organisation and many celebrities including Dame Arlene Phillips as part of "Let's Dance". Her aim throughout this campaign is to highlight and advocate the health and medical benefits of dance to GP's, medics, the press and the general public.

Angela launched "Let's Dance" on BBC's The One Show on Friday February 7th. We are so proud to say that Rubicon Dance featured in this programme, demonstrating our work with those living with or supporting a person with Parkinson's as well as with Stroke survivors.

We were so excited to have a visit from Angela Rippon and the Series Producer and her team from The One Show to Rubicon two weeks ago!! Angela joined in with our Active Dancing with Parkinson's session led by Sophie Lorimer.

Anwen Davies who leads our Stroke survivors sessions on Zoom was also filmed leading a session. Angela and The One Show film crew also drove to the home of one of our participants to interview him about what he feels he gets out of his dance sessions with Rubicon and this interview was also featured on The One Show.

We are so thrilled to highlight this kind of work that Rubicon has done for so many years and we are incredibly grateful to Angela Rippon and The One Show for choosing to come and visit us at Rubicon Dance.

In line with the themes of Let's Dance on Sunday March 2nd 2025 Rubicon is offering FREE one hour dance sessions for children and young people, older people, the ALUMNI of our Full time/BTEC course which celebrates 40 years in 2026 and children and young people with disabilities. We are also leading a "thank you" dance session to some of the team from Rubicon Wales Facilities Management who have supported our sessions in a care home and a hospital in Cardiff since 2023.

On Sunday March 2nd we are also showing short films which demonstrates our work in hospitals, with Stroke survivors, with older adults and young dancers. If you are available please call in to Rubicon between 10.00-3.00 as we would love to see you!
