Kandyan Dancers Company Celebrates ~Five Years of Narthana~ with Exhibition Gallery

Kandyan Dancers Company marked a major milestone with a special 5th Anniversary Exhibition Gallery, celebrating five years of one of the UK's biggest and leading Sri Lankan cultural dance productions. Supported by The Bhavan and the High Commission of India in London, the private exhibition brought together performers, supporters, collaborators and partners from across the five-year journey.

Guests explored a curated gallery of photographs, costumes, videos and memorabilia documenting the evolution of Narthana from its inaugural production in 2022 through to its fifth anniversary. A highlight of the evening was the recognition of performers who have appeared in all five productions of Narthana. Each dancer received a commemorative plaque acknowledging their unwavering commitment, dedication and contribution to the continued growth of Kandyan Dancers Company and Sri Lankan performing arts in the UK. 

Founder and Creative Director Dilini Seneviratne reflected on the significance of the occasion: "Narthana has always been about more than a performance. It's about creating opportunities, building a community and preserving our culture together. Seeing so many familiar faces return to celebrate five years was incredibly special, and recognising those who have been part of every single Narthana made the evening even more meaningful."

The exhibition marked the beginning of the company's fifth anniversary celebrations before audiences gathered at the Shaw Theatre for Narthana 2026, continuing KD Co.'s mission of celebrating, preserving and sharing the richness of Sri Lankan dance with audiences across the United Kingdom.
