Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing two-week intensive summer CPD programme

As one of the world’s leading dance examination boards and providers of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) for dance teachers, the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD) is delighted to announce that the annual Summer Programme will be taking place both in person, at Laine Theatre Arts, Epsom, and online between 31 July and 11 August 2023.

Open to both members and non-members of ISTD, the programme will allow dance teachers to keep their practice current and ensure that their learners stay creative, motivated and inspired. There will be a wide variety of syllabus and non-syllabus courses to choose from; all led by expert teaching teams, lead lecturers and industry professionals. They’ve created a mixed programme of in studio and online courses, so whatever your preferred method of learning, there is something to suit you.

“We have had some lovely feedback about learning together and being part of the ISTD community which is so important when you may be working alone as a dance teacher. Taking time out to invest and immerse yourself in a course away from any distractions is so worthwhile both from a skill and knowledge point of view, but also for networking and sharing practice. Even having a chat over a cup of coffee at break-time really adds to the experience and support”, commented Louise Molton, Director of Education at ISTD.

There is a wide range of CPD to pick from across the programme, all delivered by leading experts including, Cara Drower, Jackie Styles, Sian Hopkins and Tereza Theodoulou. These courses are ideal for both experienced teachers, as well as those still in training.

Genres covered across the programme include Tap Dance, Modern Theatre, Imperial Classical Ballet, Contemporary Dance and Cecchetti Classical Ballet. Include something here about the non-syllabus training.

Within the first three weeks after bookings open on 28 April 2023, members will receive an extra 20% off the standard member price for in studio courses. This means that courses will be priced at £66 per day in studio. After this period, tickets will revert to standard member prices.
