Elmhurst Ballet School launches Ballet & Beyond: a new recreational dance programme for all ages

Launching in January 2026, Ballet & Beyond opens up Elmhurst’s exceptional dance facilities to the wider community as part of the school’s ongoing commitment to widen participation in dance and remove barriers to entry.

The programme provides a welcoming, inclusive environment where anyone can experience the joy and wellbeing benefits of movement, whether taking their first dance steps or returning to the studio after time away.

To celebrate the launch, Elmhurst invites the public to a Ballet & Beyond Open Day on Saturday 22 November, offering visitors the chance to explore the new programme and take part in a day of dance discovery. 

What to expect on the Open Day

• Meet Elmhurst’s experienced and friendly dance tutors 
• Take part in taster sessions for ballet and contemporary dance 
• Learn more about the timetable and class structure 
• Enjoy live piano accompaniment during ballet sessions 
• Tour Elmhurst’s state-of-the-art studios and facilities 
• Enjoy refreshments and meet the Elmhurst community 

The Ballet & Beyond programme will offer ballet and contemporary dance classes on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays, with sessions for all levels, from beginner to advanced. Classes will be open to children aged 2 years through to adults (18+), with no audition required. Every ballet class will feature live piano accompaniment, adding a professional touch and enriching students’ musicality, artistry, and technique.
