Eliot Smith Dance Presents the Third Edition of ESD Presents: A Celebration of Sir Robert Cohan CBE
We’re thrilled to announce the third edition of ESD Presents—a biennial event dedicated to celebrating influential dance makers. This year, ESD honours the extraordinary legacy of Sir Robert Cohan CBE, the founding father of British contemporary dance.
Event Dates: 28 July - 02 August 2025
Location: Dance City, Newcastle upon Tyne
Highlights of ESD Presents 2025:
- Summer Intensive (2025): A unique program open to dancers 18+! Dive into the Cohan method, Graham-based technique, Ballet, Performance, and more, with world-class instructors including Anne Donnelly and Kenneth Tharp.
- Gala Performance: Join us on Saturday, 02 August at 19:00 for an unforgettable evening featuring excerpts from Sir Robert Cohan’s masterworks, performed by intergenerational dancers, including dancers from Eliot Smith Dance.
2025 marks the 100th anniversary of Sir Robert Cohan’s birth, making this celebration even more special. We can't wait to welcome you to Dance City and celebrate Sir Robert Cohan's extraordinary contributions to the dance world.
