Discover! Creative Careers Week 2024, 18th - 22nd November 

Discover! Creative Careers Week 2024 is an exciting opportunity for young people aged 11-18 to gain insight into real job roles and pathways in the creative industries from employers through online and in-person events. 

One Dance UK is proud to be a creative careers partner with Discover! and plans to showcase our young people’s programmes and the breadth of careers in dance as part of Discover! Creative Careers Week 2024. Join us to showcase and celebrate the breadth of careers in dance!

If you are a dance company, dance organisation or run programmes/provision for young people please register to showcase the opportunities you can offer. This could be through offering taster workshops, hosting careers talks or signposting to your programmes. We want to inspire young people to see the exciting and varied careers available in dance.  

Schools/colleges - find out more and register here 

If you are a school or college please register so your young people can access opportunities available to them during Discover! Creative Careers week. This could be by taking your class to a workshop in person, attending a talk with your young people or seeing a performance in action. There are opportunities to get involved both in person or online.  

Taking part supports schools and colleges to meet several Gatsby benchmarks including: 

Benchmark 4: Linking curriculum learning to careers particularly if you enhance your involvement in activities with Discover! Lesson plans creative industry careers lesson plans here. 

Benchmark 5: Encounters with employers and employees Discover! Creative Careers Week offers opportunities to hear directly from professionals working across the creative industries through online and in-person events 

Benchmark 6: Experiences of workplaces During the week we encourage employers to open their doors and invite local students for interactive careers activities. The Discover team can only support coordination of in-person activities for schools and colleges based in their 77 priority areas. However all online opportunities are open to everyone regardless of your location!
