Theatre Programme Producer

An incredible opportunity to take the lead as Programme Producer for our dynamic and exciting Theatre Programme at The Place, London's powerhouse for dance.

The Theatre Programme Producer works closely with the Head of Programming & Producing, Artistic Director, Youth and Family Producer, and other colleagues on the programming and delivery of our Theatre Programme.

The main responsibility of the post holder is to programme the theatre at The Place, and manage the delivery of this programme, liaising within the department to ensure the best experience for visiting artists, from initial contact through to the performance. This post holder will enjoy researching programme ideas by attending performances and sharings in London, across other areas of the UK, and internationally. They will have a commitment to diversity and will strive to ensure that The Place’s Theatre Programme reflects the diversity of audiences in London and beyond. They will be motivated to develop The Place’s programme so that it continues to represent our values of Unlocking Potential, Taking Risks, Equity, Cultural Activism, and Entrepreneurship. Our programme features artists from all over the world.

We enjoy working in partnership to deepen our engagement with forms and territories that are underrepresented in our programme, for example with Queer East, Generation A/Fatima Ndoye, Dance Umbrella and cultural agencies in Korea and Taiwan.

Programme highlights from 2023/2024 included work from Igor x Moreno, Sung Im Her, Junk Ensemble, Pagrav Dance, Seke Chimutengwende, Mark Bruce, Sonia Sabri Co., VestAndPage and Emilyn Claid.
