Stepping in Situ is Matthys’ storytelling practice rooted in Khoi and San heritage and Nama Stap Dance. Through movement, text, object improvisation and choreographic play, participants explore ancestry, intuition and identity, reconnecting with individual and collective ancestral knowledge.
Francesca Matthys is a South African dance artist, writer, educator and Kundalini yoga teacher based in London. Her work explores ancestral wisdom through movement and storytelling, with inclusivity, collaboration and community at its heart. She holds an MA from Trinity Laban.
