Melissa M Young specializes in Lester Horton technique, a whole-body dance approach and standard at Alvin Ailey American Dance Center. She taught Horton technique at Dallas Black Dance Theatre (1998-2017) and as an adjunct at SMU, TWU, and ACU. She has also led movement workshops for Leadership North Texas and Leadership Dallas.
